The Section for Local Economic Development and European Integration is organized within the Cabinet of the Mayor and has the following responsibilities:
 

• Monitoring the implementation of Bijeljina City Development Strategy and other strategic plans and programs, especially in terms of activities coordination, data collection, monitoring and data analysis on all aspects of development, life and work in the City
• Providing information to citizens, associations and businesses on the implementation of strategic objectives, plans and projects
• Conducting tasks of the Unit for local economic development of the City
• Coordinating integration of project ideas with the Agriculture fund, Agency for SMEs, Tourist Agency, public companies and institutions and other institutions with the goal to enhance the economic and social development of the City
• Submitting initiatives to relevant City bodies on the establishment and implementation of projects related to economic and social development
• Identifying projects, professional completion of project proposals and establishment of electronic database
• Providing professional and technical support, preparing, applying and monitoring implementation of projects important for the economic, social and cultural development of the City
• Operations related to projects on European integration
• Analysis of EU regulations on the functioning of Local Communities
• Establishing communication with representatives of International Organizations, Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations and other International Agencies in BiH and the Region
• Preparing and applying with project proposals within the pre-accession funds of the EU (IPA and other funds)
• Data collection, establishment of a registry, plans and procedures relating to Energy efficiency, activities on the increase of Energy efficiency and establishment of an electronic monitoring system
• Implementation of projects and concrete measures on the increase of Energy efficiency in buildings and other property owned by the City
• promoting and initiating projects on Energy efficiency
• Other tasks as prescribed by the Mayor.
